Apart from striving for academic excellence in the HKDSE examination, discovering university majors and choosing the right university are also prime concerns of our S.6 students. In view of such, the Life Planning Committee organized an alumni sharing session on 14th October, inviting nearly 30 alumni who are now studying in universities to share their JUPAS and university experience with our S.6 students.
The sharing session was divided into 2 parts where the first one covered a total of 7 faculties (BBA, Arts, Communication, Engineering, Social Science, Nursing, and Science) with more than 30 majors and the second half about the 9 universities in Hong Kong.
S.6 students were given the opportunity to have an interactive discussion with our alumnus so that they could have a more understanding of the characteristics of each university (strengths, atmosphere, culture, etc.) and different faculties and majors (JUPAS requirement, interview arrangements, course curriculum and coverage, teaching styles, etc.) Many students found these sessions very insightful in planning their JUPAS choice.
We would like to thank all our alumni again for sacrificing their precious time to take part in the Alumni Sharing Session, which surely was a success and has received positive responses. We hope to organize more similar events to increase alumni involvement in students’ life planning in order to nourish the ‘pass-in-on’ spirit of UCCKE.
