What an honour to have a representative from the University College London (UCL), top 7th University in the world, to deliver an admission talk at UCCKE! Big thank you to Mr. Arvind Vepa, the International Liaison and Recruitment Officer of UCL, who came all the way from London to give a talk on 17th October. Over 70 students attended the talk and it was ended with a very interactive Q&A session.
Mr. Vepa gave an overview of the facilities, location and structure of UCL (11 faculties with over 200 UG programmes), as well as the average UCL entry requirements for HKDSE. He also highlighted some ‘worth-knowing’ UCAS application matters and shared some insights on how to choose the right university outside Hong Kong.
One major part of the talk is about how to write a good personal statement. The guest speaker suggested some key guidelines that a personal statement should follow and provided both good and bad examples of personal statements accepted by UCL to the students for their reference. Many students found this part very useful and were all busy taking notes. Once again, thank you Mr. Arvind and we hope you could come again next year!
