During the interview, he emphasized that if students wanted to be more competitive, they should develop multi-talents instead of only focusing on academic results. He encouraged our students to develop a self-learning habit and make good use of IT to face the fast changing world. As Mr. Chen was the chairman of the Working Group on Textbooks and eLearning Resources Development, he was keen to have a better understanding of how our school implements eLearning. Upon his arrival, he received a warm welcome from our Principal Dr. To, the two Vice Principals Mrs. Ho and Dr. Cheng and the Academic Affairs (Technology) Coordinator Mr. Lau Chun Wah. He then visited our school library. Our Teacher-librarian Mrs. Annie Lau, presented "The roles of UCCKE Library in using IT to support teaching and learning". The Under Secretary agreed that interactive lesson was more beneficial to students and surely would enhance teaching effectiveness. He commended UCCKE’s teachers for allowing students to make mistakes and learn from them in the group discussion. During the visit, Mr. Chen also showed a keen interest in seeing how EDB could support schools in the New Senior Secondary curriculum. "Through eLearning, your school UCCKE has revitalized the entire education paradigm," he expressed his appreciation and hoped that not only could UCCKE keep implementing eLearning in the school community, but also promote it among other schools. After having lunch with our S.1 students, the Under Secretary visited our Green Award-winning dormitory. At the end, he attended our school assembly. In addressing to our students in the school Assembly, Mr. Chen encouraged our students to keep exploring in eLearning. The Assembly theme was sharing about the Easter camps and tours.
