The Shack by William P. Young was first released in 2007, became a phenomenon in 2008, and continued to top bestsellers lists in 2009.
This book written like a prayer describes the spiritual journey in which the main character, Mack, confronts God about the tragic death of his daughter as he works through the meaning of suffering in the weekend he spends in the shack with the Trinity.
This title was highly recommended by our Principal Dr To. In his own words, “Very seldom does a Christian fiction attract that much attention from the secular world. The story format of the book makes it easier for the readers to identify with the main character’s struggle. And the book encourages readers to explore their own relationship with God and how pain should be dealt with. The fictitious character of the Trinity is also though-provoking.”
