Praise to the Lord! The Parent-Teacher Day Trip on May 1, 2010 was filled with showers of blessings, the best weather, safety and joys among the students, parents, teachers and their families. Organized by the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), a total of 173 members of our UCCKE community had enjoyed a wonderful day together. PTA sincerely thanks our teachers and their families, parents and students for making the trip a success!

PTA Annual General Meeting & A Parenting Talk |

Many parents gathered together in the School Hall to attend the PTA AGM meeting and a special talk titled 金融海嘯與孩子成長藍圖 presented by Mr Tommy Chan from the Edit Workshop in the evening of Oct 30. Before the AGM meeting started, Dr To welcomed the parents with a few announcements to share, the Athletics PTA Cup was then presented, followed by introductions to the new electronic Parent Forum by Mrs Carmen Tam and the Mommy’s Club and Prayer Group by the two group leaders. Mr Elex Chan, the chairman of 08-09 PTA, then gave a very comprehensive report of the 08-09 PTA events, followed by appreciation presented to the PTA members by the School. Mr Chan’s talk provided invaluable insights to parents based on his blueprints for children growing up in the current economic environment.

As a professional family counselor and a mother of two sons in secondary school, Natalie has shared her professional point of view and personal experience. Parents found the talk very inspiring and the after-talk sharing very fruitful.

Topic: Adaptation to secondary school life
Speaker: Dr. Cheng, the vice principal; Mrs. Yip, the school social worker; Cheng Tin Lok of 3D and his father (panel sharing)

S.1 parents may find that their kids are having quite a different school life in secondary school. They have to adapt new academic system, learning style and as well as interpersonal interaction. Dr. Cheng and Mrs. Yip have shared their experience in helping young students go through these difficulties. Cheng Tin Lok of 3D and his father shared their real experiences. Parents found the talk useful and the sharing very touching.

S.1 parents are invited to attend 4 parents' talk organized by the school. They can learn more about the school, the growth of their kid in secondary school and etc. There is group sharing after the talk. Parents were enthusiastic in attending the talk on Sept. 5 and the sharing time afterward.
