THEME: “We S.A.W. Why!”

11.10.2010-14.10.2010 was our Mathematics Week. As a kick-off ceremony, we defined Mathematics learning as a training of posing questions and reflection rather than a series of mechanical drilling. Because analytical mind is a gift from God to human beings, we invited our Vice-principal Mrs. Ho to pray for the God’s wisdom on students’ mathematics learning.

Technical operation is just a minor in formal mathematics training. What is more important is the training on creativity in problem solving, i.e., developing creative and effective strategies to solve ordinary mathematical problems. We have designed a new activity MATH-DEBATE to inspire students this un-explored ability in mathematics learning. |

The DEVELOPMENT of MATHEMATICS IN THE 21ST CENTURY
One of the most important aspects in mathematics training is to shape students’ personality to be more persistent in task completion. It can be done through studying the history of the development of mathematical concepts. As a component of mathematics learning, students are invited to present a reading report after having studied a critical issue in mathematics. |
