Our S.1 English Enhancement Programme ended its two weeks of lessons with a grand finale production of ‘Showtime’. Students were all assigned individual lines in the performance and everyone sang astonishingly well in English to songs of praise to the Lord. As there were a total of nine groups among 2010-2011 cohort of 142 S.1 participants, each character was played by a different student from the nine groups.

Parents were mesmerized and enthralled by the confidence and articulate speaking skills displayed by the S.1 students. The evening ended on a high note with parents joining with voices in unison to the final song, ‘This is the day’, along with passionate singing and dancing. The cameras never stopped flashing all evening with spotlights on the performers as parents were totally delighted seeing their children enjoy the two weeks superbly. The impressive array of melodic tunes in tandem with complicated dance steps captivated the parents, relative and teachers all evening. May the Lord bless this cohort of S.1s to a positive start of a new school year.
